AC/DC from Best Bands of All Time

AC/DC 1 100x100

AC/DC are an Australian rock band, formed in 1973 by brothers Malcolm and Angus Young. A hard rock/blues rock band, they have also been considered a heavy metal band, although they have always dubbed their music simply "rock and roll". AC/DC underwent several line-up changes before releasing their first album, High Voltage, in 1975; Malcolm and Angus were the only original members left in the band. Membership subsequently stabilised until bassist Mark Evans was replaced by Cliff Williams in 1977 for the album Powerage.

The greatest Rock N Roll band ever

Great band. They found their formula early on and stuck with it. This is a workingman's band. No deep, insightful lyrics, no complex harmonies, no world-shaking political statements...just good, old-fashioned, fist-pumping rock. Enjoy it with a cold bottle of Guinness.

I am an AC/DC fan. Angus Young has some great guitar leads. My only criticism is it all runs together after awhile. You can pick up two or three of their albums and basically own everything, but it still sounds good

Definitely overhyped, good band, great live act, but their musical creativity and depth isn't anything really - I do like them though.

World's greatest hard rock band. They deserve more than 44th place.

The definition of rock and roll. Sleazy, gritty, and uncomplicated. They don`t have the depth of other artists, but for their purposes, they don`t need it. Simply a good time. Just don`t listen to anything after 1990.

on Scott era & Back In Black with Brian Johnson I would rate 95/100. Rating would slip down to 60/100 after that. As an Aussie teenager in the 70's these were a breath of fresh air in the music industry.

A classic band that reached it's stride on T.N.T. and didn't lose it until after For Those About To Rock. Bon Scott was the heart and soul of the band. Angus makes it rock, but Bon was the fun. Only one great album after his death (Back In Black). Best song...Whole Lotta Rosie. Best riff...It's A Long Way The Top.
