Led Zeppelin from Best Bands of All Time
Led Zeppelin were an English rock band formed in London in 1968. The group consisted of guitarist Jimmy Page, singer Robert Plant, bassist and keyboardist John Paul Jones, and drummer John Bonham. The band's heavy, guitar-driven sound, rooted in blues and psychedelia on their early albums, has earned them recognition as one of the progenitors of heavy metal, though their unique style drew from a wide variety of influences, including folk music.

Lacking a bit of emotion and humor as far as I'm concerned. Great musicians though. Silly to compare them to the Stones or the Beatles. Those two had something more... magical at their best.
The greatest band to ever grace this universe. They are the limit for musical talent. Every member was essential and ending it with Bonham's death was the best thing they could have done. Better than the Rolling Stones and definitely better than The Beatles. They are too underrated on this site.
Great musicians forming an even greater band BUT...they are a bit too metalish and a bit too protracted in their songs for me to really worship them.
Undoubtedly the greatest band of all time. Their output between '69 & '76 was staggering. Most bands would have been over the moon to have released any of their during this period. That's how brilliant they were. Had the pleasure of meeting Mr Plant in the late '70's. What a gent.
Brewed together bluesy swagger with thunderous power, flavoured with the creativity and pop sensibilities of the 60s. They concocted hard rock - often imitated by others, never bettered. Some were heavier, some were catchier, but nobody put it all together like Led Zep. They are the epitome of the rock band - sex-laced charismatic front man, guitar-rock god on lead guitar, groovy underrated bass, and volatile genius smacking the drums. Amazing.
6 Best Zep albums in order: IV, II, III, I, Houses of the Holy, and Physical Graffiti. It's really hard to put them in any kind of order because of how amazing all of their albums are. That being said I would highly recommend these six albums from one of the greatest rock bands of all time.
The last couple albums are what prevent my perfect rating. Best hard rock band ever. Jimmy second only to Jimi in guitar god status, maybe they can share.
The late 60s were amazing, Beatles and Stones, but wait, Led Zeppelin too! Wow. Every member of this band is amazing and is why they should be this high on the list. Their first 4 albums are amazing and they had some highlights later on, but kinda went the way of the Stones.
Without doubt the best rock band of all time and right up there for the overall best. To sit through Dazed And Confused as rendered on The Song Remains The Same is both hugely exhilarating and exhausting!!! Ultimately they will always be my first love!
Best rock band of all time!!! I only have a few complete studio discography's and Zeppelin is one of them. It's such a kick butt set! Coda was the only one I was disappointed in when I bought it, but even Zeppelin's worse album is better then most bands best album... Get the Led out!
Through not the most influental band of all time, it definitly is one of the best. Their style, which droves from country to Asian elements is something I admire even more than Pink Floyd`s electro-psycho nuance (aka "The Dark Side of the Moon). Best rock band ever.
Did you know that whilst working as a session guitarist in the 60s, Jimmy had a pet goat called Airship, he would take it on a leash to various recording studios. This is how the band got their name. If you listen carefully you can hear Airship bleating on a number of Yardbird tracks, he's the one that sounds a bit like Eric Clapton.
Did you know that Ken Dodd wrote the lyric for Kashmere? It was originally going to be a stage song for the Diddymen, but Plant auditioned for the show and persuaded, with a clothes mangle, Ken to let him have it for the band.
