Metallica 1 100x100

Metallica is an American heavy metal band based in San Rafael, California. The band was formed in 1981 in Los Angeles when vocalist/guitarist James Hetfield responded to an advertisement posted by drummer Lars Ulrich in a local newspaper. Metallica's current line-up comprises founding members Hetfield and Ulrich, longtime lead guitarist Kirk Hammett and bassist Robert Trujillo. Guitarist Dave Mustaine and bassists Ron McGovney, Cliff Burton and Jason Newsted are former members of the band.

Arguably the greatest metal band of the 1980s Metallica showed just how far a great band can fall. The reason my rating is as low as it is, is because of everything they released after And Justice For All. It was all terrible except for The Black Album which was decent... I guess. Best Metallica albums in order: Master of Puppets, Ride The Lightning, and Kill 'em All. And Justice for All was okay. Everything else pretty much sucked.

They Were Gods in the 80's, With Mustaine And Burton They Were The Greatest Metal Band ever. kirk hammett who went in the band one mounth before the release of kill em all is horrible , probally the worst guitarist i've heard, and When Cliff Burton Died They Started To decline a lot, after cliff's death metallica only had a great musician (Hetfield) good musician(jason) and awful musicians (kirk and lars). some good songs were recorded in and justice for all and the black album, but they are doing s""t almost 20 years.

Metallica was the standard setter, but I never really liked them. They do have some great stuff musically, but I have never felt like they had any substance, and only people that hang out at truck stops listens to it. But then I respected them for their musicianship, but that ended there.

One of the few metal bands I still listen to. The black album and Master of Puppets are all time classics that set the standards for the genre.

Wallstrafed you're a joke. If you still have that view after listening to Welcome Home(Sanitarium) and Fade to Black, it's obvious you have no soul or integrity. Wisdom isn't your forte.

Would be 100/100 if it wasn't for "St. Anger" (what the hell were they thinking?) and 80/100 if they sullied their legacy even more by making "Death Magnetic" another "St. Anger", but, thankfully, their latest was redemption.
