AC/DC from Greatest Rock Bands of All Time

AC/DC 1 100x100

AC/DC are an Australian rock band, formed in 1973 by brothers Malcolm and Angus Young. A hard rock/blues rock band, they have also been considered a heavy metal band, although they have always dubbed their music simply "rock and roll". AC/DC underwent several line-up changes before releasing their first album, High Voltage, in 1975; Malcolm and Angus were the only original members left in the band. Membership subsequently stabilised until bassist Mark Evans was replaced by Cliff Williams in 1977 for the album Powerage.

One of the best hard rock bands ever.

Yeah...they are what they are. Hard to deny the rockin' awesomeness of Thunderstruck and Shook me All Night Long but seriously, couldn't really listen to more than two or three songs in a row by these guys. If you're at a wedding and the DJ plays a little ACDC you gotta get out on the dancefloor but every song sounds the same so they have to be taken in small doses. They have limited application for short periods of time.

Not my favorite band... even though everyone seems to love them. Back in Black, High Voltage, and Highway to Hell. I think I'd be okay just with those. For Those About to Rock is great too. Watching Angus play is my favorite thing about this band.

The epitome of "dumb rock and roll", great if you're looking for fun, not so much if you are looking for the meaning of life. The instrumentation (including voices) sounds always good. Having say that, I think their albums get extremely repetitive and the best way to enjoy them is to look for a "Best Of" or just hear the singles.

This has to be the most overrated band ever. The absolute worst lyrics ever conceived. Predictable songs. This band is a stereotype and a product of the machine.

The rating I've given is just for everything up to, and including Back in Black. Not a fan of anything after that.

Right up there with Zeppelin for best Rock & Roll band of all time. Always in your face with great guitar and vocals.
