Château de Chamboureau, Savennières Cuvée d'Avant (2002) from Top White Wines
Coming from France’s Loire Valley, this Chenin Blanc seduces by its complex, yet delicate combination of flavors of honeyed fruit and dry, biscuity taste on the finish. Chenin Blanc is one of the least famous white wine grapes. From the place of its origin it has been transferred all over the world, and has been used for all styles of white wine: table wines, sparkling wines, dessert wines… Typical flavor characteristics of Chenin Blanc include: peach honey, marzipan, and quince jelly though so-called South African dry style (Steen wines ), often offers tropical fruit notes, such as pineapple and guava.
