Red Hot Chili Peppers from Best Bands of All Time

Red Hot Chili Peppers 1 100x100

These guys are definitely one of the most popular modern rock bands to take you to the other side. Long prolific career, never ending fame, and hype, original clips, RHCP are the titans of the industry. Operating since 1983, they are gurus of funk rock and never fail in delivering quality content to the listeners. Despite the normal process of aging, the Peppers are not looking like stopping their engines. Improvised live performances get us the feeling of a constant jam and the fun and joy the artist are experiencing are viral, spreading through the audience and filling the concert halls with a distinct energy, only possible for the RHCP.

Like most of the bands, they experienced a change of personnel, rotating the musicians if need be, but absolutely no result in the end quality can be spotted. One of the major blows to the team was the death of Hillel Slovak, aged 28. His drug addiction undermined his health and eventually, his heart stopped beating after an overdose. He hid his addiction from everyone and this was one of the reasons for not getting help in time.

RHCP received the global fame only in the 90s and have not disappeared from the music radars ever since. Producing iconic albums and singles, guys were conquering huge space in their fans’ hearts. The band has already left a huge legacy behind them and a whole generation of young adults who were born and raised under their music and artistic performances. Only Californication sold 16 million copies worldwide, let alone the combination of all other albums.

What do you think about the Chili Peppers and how long ago did you hear their first song? All of that and more can be discussed in the comment section for this band, right below.

One of the best bands of the 90s. Always plays with so much heart and energy on stage. Great guitar of course. Disappointed John left, but at least it was on good terms this time.

They are far past their prime studio-wise. Ever since John Frusciante left, they have not been quite as good. They're still a great live band though.

Great band, great live too. Favs; BloodSugar, Mothers Milk, Californication, Stadium, By The Way, One Hot Minute.

Flea and Anthony have gone down a very interesting and heart wrenching path. Their music up until Mother's Milk was ok. I like their "What Hit's?" compilation of that time period before, but everything after, even One Hot Minute, I have loved. 1. Blood Sugar Sex Magic 2. Stadium Arcadium 3. Californication 4. By the Way 6. One Hot Minute 7. I'm With You 8. Mother's Milk (great stuff, but can't rank high because it wasn't terribly consistent).

Amazing lyrics, great guitar, great vocals, great drums, great bass, awesome songs. I've made multiple mix discs for this band because they are so great to listen to while driving, especially. Their live performances are among the best of all time. They deserve to be ranked higher in band rating and their albums deserve much more recognition.

Flee got his nickname because he was always running away when anything slightly worrying happened

Did you know that Flea had just been chopping chili, the next job on the agenda was applying pile ointment. He named the band to remind himself to wash his hands.

I have a soft spot for bands that evolve and refine their sound. It's a treat to go through The Peppers catalogue and witness the transformation of their sound. The profound effect different guitarists have on the steady forces of Kiedis and Flea. BloodSugar, Californication, By The Way are masterpieces. Pick your favorite 14 songs from Stadium Arcadium, which will be different than my 14, and you can add that album to the above list. Their story is interesting too. How they have managed to keep on keeping on is a testament.

A real "singles" band, in that their hypothetical Greatest Hits collection would be their best standalone album. The two "big" albums (BloodSugar and Californication) are generally solid, and their other work boasts the occassional cracking track, but there's a lot of yawn and filler in their canon. I have friends who are massive fans, and they insist I'm missing something.

They're pretty solid. I haven't really found any of their studio albums to be anything super awesome, but their singles are all really really good. If their Greatest Hits album included songs from Stadium Arcadium, like Dani California and Snow, that would be one of my favorite greatest hits albums of all time. Overall pretty great band.

Bassline Heaven. My Heroes Play in this band. My very favorite songs are made by these funky monks I love this band more than life.
