Best Bloodborne Weapons

Everybody heard about this game, mainly because of its difficulty and bosses who would often drive the player mad and get a bit more of grey hair. In Bloodborne, each aspect of your approach can define the result of the battle and often certain bosses require other strategy and weapons choice than previous ones. While choosing Bloodborne best weapon, one must assess the weaknesses of the opponent and adapt to survive. The choice is big and each weapon has unique traits and often a backstory of the previous user. Take a look at the list and find the best Bloodborne weapon in your opinion.

1

Ludwig's Holy Blade

A trick weapon typically used by Healing Church hunters. It is said that the silver sword was employed by Ludwig, the first hunter of the church. When transformed, it combines with its sheath to form a greatsword. It exhibits several departures from the workshop's design, suggesting that the Church anticipated much larger inhuman beasts.

Does the Arcane scaling effect paper or shell buffing? It's the highest scaling but does nothing for the weapon in it's natural state.

Not really. It's not difficult to dodge in its transformed mode and also easy to parry while its normal mode is just simple sword slashes. The only thing I think is over powered is bone marrow ash on the Evelyn with 50 bloodtinge. Take out 80% of someone's health for one bullet.

I was on the Alpha, the weapons were the saw cleaver, the mercy blade and the kirkhammer, not the holy blade.

2

Bloodborne Burial Blade

Trick weapon wielded by Gehrman, the first hunter. A masterpiece that defined the entire array of weapons crafted at the workshop. Its blade is forged with siderite, said to have fallen from the heavens. Gehrman surely saw the hunt as a dirge of farewell, wishing only that his prey might rest in peace, never again to awaken to another harrowing nightmare.

My favourite bloodborne weapons Burial Blade and Hunter Axe

under the silver moonlight, I fulfill the Hunter's Oath and lay suffering souls to rest.

can u imbue the burial blade with fire paper or empty phantasm shell because I cant and im on new game plus so yea but otherwise its the best weapon in bloodborne by far in my opinion

3

Threaded Cane

One of the trick weapons of the workshop, commonly used by hunters on their duties. Sufficiently deadly as a rigid bladed cane, but also serves as a whip when its blade is split into many. Concealing the weapon inside the cane and flogging the beasts with the whip is partly an act of ceremony, an attempt to demonstrate to oneself that the bloodlust of the hunt will never encroach upon their soul.

Best bloodborne weapons list

In whip form it has a 20% damage bonus against beasts and in cane form it has a 20% damage bonus against unholy creatures such as the forsaken cainhurst spirits and the lost children of antiquity (the bat things in cainhurst)

Great against bosses like Amygdala and Vicar Amelia. Attacks do damage to things above them so it is useful when trying to reach their heads for a stagger. Also, since it has a good wide reach, it can hit arms and legs of these types of bosses consecutively.

4

Whirligig Saw

A trick weapon crafted by the workshop heretics, the Powder Kegs, and weapon of choice of the Old Hunter Valtr, the Beast Eater. This weapon pummels beasts in its mace form, but its true strength lies in its attached mechanical saws These discs, lined with serrated teeth, spin rapidly, thrashing the flesh of beasts into fine shreds.

This weapon actually has pretty scary rallying potential when mixed with the right gems...

this is a very strong weapon as demonstrated by dante and holly when they defeated ludwig in 2 mins 10 seconds 1st attempt

Hey! A Dante and Holly fan! I loved their playthrough of BB. My favourite moment was when Dante walked into a Indiana Jones-style Death Ball.

5

Hunter Axe

One of the trick weapons of the workshop, commonly used on the hunt. Retains the qualities of an axe, but offers a wider palette of attacks by transforming. Boasts a heavy blunt attack, leading to high rally potential. No matter their pasts, beasts are no more than beasts. Some choose this axe to play the part of executioner.

Simple? I disagree. The Hunter's axe has a wide arsenal of moves. However compared to the saw-cleaver or the threaded cane, I can understand why it would seem over powered or boring. One fully charged R2 will wipe out a whole mob of the huntsmen in central yharnam. But it's the mastery of the various attacks and controlling your attack range that will make this weapon fun.

Just as I stated it on the Rally Potential page, the Hunter's Axe does not have the best rally potential. That "title" goes to the Burial Blade, and I've done numerous tests alongside other players to prove it. So I'll just be removing this from the page.

Fun fact: I killed the Brainsucker in Cathedral Ward with this baby in three hits. No thust attacks. Or..maybe the regular R2 counts as a thrust? I'm not sure entirely. Anyways I stood beneath the slimy bastard and while he flailed at the fence, I lined him up and let him eat axe. YES is was cheesy, but so are those brain-eating bastards! This weapon's range in transformed mode is not to be underestimated.

Holy Moonlight Sword
7

Blade of Mercy

A special trick weapon passed down among hunters of hunters. One of the oldest weapons of the workshop. Splits into two when activated. The weapon's warped blades are forged with siderite, a rare mineral of the heavens. Most effective in swift attacks, such as after a quick-stepping.

I'm also prety sure its the only weapon in any fromsoft soulslike game that deals more damage off of a dash/roll. Meanimg its beneficial to quickly enter combat because of that nice extra damage.

It looks similar to a Egyptian Kopesh.

If i get arcane up to 15 arcane can the shell make these blades stronger?

8

Bloodborne Kirkhammer

A trick weapon typically used by Healing Church hunters. On the one side, an easily handled silver sword. On the other, a giant obtuse stone weapon, characterized by a blunt strike and extreme force of impact. The Church takes a heavy-handed, merciless stance toward the plague of beasts, an irony not lost upon the wielders of this most symbolic weapon.

Okay. I REALLY hate to be the wet blanket..because I do like this weapon as a strength build. But the Kirkhammer has two serious weaknesses. 1: Range. In sheathed or unsheathed mode, the kirkhammer is criminally short on range. This is not a serious disadvantage with the sword because it has a wicked fast rapid attack. But when your trying to take advantage of that beefy attack and stagger value? When it's sheathed and in full hammer mode? It's range is virtually non-existant. This is a big problem especially when you compare it to the hunter's axe, which you can start with for free, or Ludwig's holy blade, which you can grind for within like an hour with the radiant sword hunter badge. 2: Swing speed. I get it. It's a big freaking slab of stone. Again, in unsheathed sword form, the Kirksword has a very fast attack rate, comparable to the unsheathed Ludwig's blade, if not maybe a smidge faster. However the hammer form is slow. Really, really slow. Your going to get interrupted a lot. Your going to take hits you don't have to because your wind up is slower then a snail with arthritis in cold molasses. Now the new patch has eased up on the stamina consumtion of this weapon, but really what this baby needs is a little extra speed and maybe a wider area of affect when it hits. All the other weapons in bloodborne seem to encourage a bloodthirsty, frantic attack style and this weapon sticks out a bit like a sore thumb in my opinion. Thoughts on this matter?

All weapons have their draw backs. The Kirkhammer has short range but can be a multipurpose weapon. You can use the sword for taking out smaller easier targets while using careful timing with the hammer form against slower enemies or when a large enemy is staggered can result in massive damage when you need it. It can also throw off people in PvP if you switch up your fighting style mid fight. I have not used the Kirkhammer in PvP but it is a similar trend with many of the weapons that effectively using both transformations throughout a fight will give you and advantage. You are right, there are definitely are weaknesses to this weapon but almost every weapon has drawbacks. Blades of Mercy-Short range, Ridderpallesch (don't judge my spelling)-lack of diversity in it's move set, chikage-Damages you, Ludwig's-fairly predictable move set, the list goes on but it's almost 3 in the morning and you get the point. If a weapon had no downside it would fall under the category "Over-Powered" and the short range does suck, but a variety of attacks come in handy, both in PvP and PvE.

Actually it kind of looks like ancient Sumerian writing, otherwise known as Cuniform. If I'm right then I have to thank my old high school history teacher for that lesson. But I won't even try to translate that, seeing as Sumerian is a dead language.

9

Rakuyo

Hunter weapon wielded by Lady Maria of the Astral Clocktower. A trick sword originated in the same country as the Cainhurst Chikage, only this sword feeds not off blood, but instead demands great dexterity. Lady Maria was fond of this aspect of the Rakuyo, as she frowned upon blood blades, despite being a distant relative of the queen. One day she abandoned her beloved Rakuyo, casting it into a dark well, when she could stomach it no longer.

Bloodborne weapons in this list very strong and beautiful

Better be worth it with how pain in the arse it is to get.

Oh it is. It most certainly is.

10

Beasthunter Saif

Bloodborne best weapons often offer not one but several ways to utilize them thus becoming useful in different situations. A weapons of the old hunters, Beasthunter Saif is both a long curved sword and a stabbing weapon. Deals your enemies both slashing and thrusting damage.

11
Evelyn
12

Saw Cleaver

One of the trick weapons of the workshop, commonly used in the hunting business. This saw, effective at drawing the blood of beasts, transforms into a long cleaver that makes use of centrifugal force. The saw, with its set of blood-letting teeth, has become a symbol of the hunt, and only grows in effectiveness the more grotesquely transformed the beast.

Seems so far alternate versions of weapons such as the Uncanny saw cleaver, has different gem slots. The uncanny saw has a triangle compared to the waning the original has.

Strange looking weapon. Looks cool but,the wrappings on the blade hamper effectiveness. Can anyone shoot me an estimate of the size of the blade?

Sounds like the votes are in. Saw is good; and actualy, after trying a whole run with just this weapon I can say that the bad scaling is warranted. It has high base dmg, faster swings than the other two weapons, and most importantly, good stagger potential. If From had given this weapon high scaling it would have been nerfed in the first patch. Besides, most of the late game dmg comes from gems rather than scaling.

13

Chikage

It’s not one of Bloodborne starting weapons and can be obtained later on in the game. It is a katana/sabre type weapon. It can be wielded both one and two-handed, inflicting physical and blood damage respectively. It can be purchased in Cainhurst Castle after meeting some requirements.

14

Ludwig's Rifle

A rifle typically used by Healing Church hunters. It is said that this rifle was employed by Ludwig, the first hunter of the Church. Its long, heavy barrel makes up in range for what it lacks in reload speed. Ludwig's Rifle exhibits several departures from the workshop's design, suggesting that the Church anticipated much larger inhuman beasts.

When you say ludwig rifle fast its like ludvig rifle

So does it do more damage then the blunderbus upgraded?

Bought it thinking it had good range and damage, like a rfile. Severely dissapointed.

15

Blunderbuss

A powerful shotgun; no wonder that many players name it their best weapon in bloodborne. It provides strong accuracy when targeting a moving creature, thus proving valuable against fast foes. The shot power also makes the enemies stutter and stop their attack, giving you the time to make a deadly strike.

16
Beast Claw
17
Kos Parasite
18
Pebble
19
Simon's Bowblade
20

Reiterpallasch

If you try to determine the Bloodborne best starting weapon, we recommend you to go to Cainhurst Castle and find this beauty in a chest instead. An elegant rapier, it can transform into a firearm and supports Bloodtinge build with two firearms in both hands.

21
Boom Hammer
22
Hunter Pistol
23

Beast Cutter

Some of the best Bloodborne weapons were introduced in the Old Hunters expansion and this is no different. A powerful cleaver that can cut through flesh like a knife through butter. It also transforms into something that resembles a whip, greatly improving the range and unlocking additional space for strong combos.

24

Bloodborne Fire Paper

Use it to buff your right hand weapon with 80 Fire damage. Excellent for fighting Beasts, and most humanoid enemies. Lasts for 60 seconds. Cannot be used on weapons that have natural elemental damage, nor feature elemental blood gems.

25
Hunter's Torch
