Best CQC(Close Quarters Combat) Weapons

The whole history of mankind is based on wars. That is why the skill of making weapons has always developed faster than anything else. After years, people began to understand that optimized weapons are more efficient and powerful than conventional weapons. In the 20th century, due to the development of weapons, two world wars took place, but even after that, people did not cease to be dependent on improving weapons. Such powerful countries as the United States, Russia, Germany, Israel and others, spend a lot of money to create better weapons than its opponents. So, below we compiled a list of Top 10 assault rifles and close combat weapons. Most of them are personal defense weapons, but despite that, they are used by elite special tactical forces around the world, such as SWAT, G9, Mossad and many others. Although, do not forget about such legendary rifles as, for example, M4, which, by the way, is the prototype of most of the weapons below.

Knight's Armament Company 6×35mm PDW is an experimental and extremely successful personal defense weapon. It has an optimized short barrel and, as well, it is 10 inches shorter and more than 1 pound lighter than the M4. For sure, KAC created the best PDW of today.

Heckler & Koch G36C

G36C is my favorite on this list, and probably it is the best civilian assault rifle nowadays. It is a 5.56×45mm German assault rifle with the gas-operated system and 30-round detachable box magazine or 100-round C-Mag drum magazine. Usually, it is used by police and special tactical forces.

LWRC M6 PSD

LWRC M6 PSD is a close quarters tactical carbine based on an MP4. It has short-stroke self-regulating gas piston system and ultra-short 8-inch barrel. M6 PSD is used by special tactical forces and armies all around the globe, and this fact shows how useful and amazing is the weapon.

Heckler & Koch MP7

Heckler & Koch MP7 seems to be one of the best PDW weapons nowadays. It was designed to meet NATO requirements after 1989. It has short-stroke piston gas system and such small ammunition (4.6×30mm) to get low recoil (however, such ammo is an exclusive one and produced exactly for this gun).

FN P90

FN P90 is a Belgium personal defense weapon designed and created in the late 80`s. It seems to be one of the weapons of such kind nowadays. P90 caliber is 5.7, and it was designed as a powerful and compact firearm for support personnel, vehicle crews, operators of crew-served weapons, special forces and counter-terrorist groups.

KRISS Vector

KRISS Vector is a family of weapons with a submachine gun design. It was announced in 2007 as a kind of experimental combat weapons. Now it is used by Indonesian Army, special tactic forces on the Philippines, and US Army as well. Its construction gives a possibility to reduce perceived recoil.

This one is probably the most known weapon on our list. A lot of people used to call it a "civilian MP7". Anyway, it is produced by Israeli military concern since 1950`s. It is an open-bolt, blowback-operated submachine gun and used as a personal defense weapon by lots of people.

FERFRANS SOAR

SOAR, or Special Operations Assault Rifle, is an American modification of M4 carbine. It has better control on full-automatic mode compared with M4. A few years ago SOAR was the best CQB rifle and still is one of the best. It has variants with a closed rotating bolt or with a short-stroke piston rotating bolt.

CornerShot is a kind of futuristic compact assault rifle. It was created by the Lt. Col. Amos Golan for the Israel Defense Forces. This weapon gives a chance to fire from the corner, without entering into contact with the enemy. It is frequently used by the SWAT teams in situations involving terrorists or hostages.

PP-90

PP-90 is a Russian variant of CQC combat weapon made for special units of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs. This submachine gun has 9 mm ammo and detachable 30-round box magazine. Also, there are the versions with spare magazine and selective fire regime.
