1

Mayor

The proud leader of Town of Salem’s good guys. His main ability is to expose himself as a mayor and therefore make his vote equal 3. Mayor then loses the chance to be healed by Doctor but still can be protected by Jailor or Bodyguard. Main goal is to kill all the bad guys.

So, someone claimed mayor when I jailed him, and I told him to reveal the next day or be executed. He did it and after he died. He got salty and reported me for gamethrowing. Seriously, there might be a possibilty for a bodyguard, and he called the "Jailor" a bitch. End of story, just happy like the Beauty and the Beast

Yiiikes. Sorry you had to experience that game. It seems like Mayor is the one role that people are consistently trash on.

I was jailor right? I always do this it's hilarious! The mayor reveals so I jail him to protect him But here is the fun part}:) I pressed execute and they are always like WHAT THE HECK YOU IDIOT IM PROVEN MAYOR FINE EXECUTE ME DUMMY And I'm like: lol it's just a prank And I don't execute. Btw pressing that button gets people talking faster then you think.

2

Jailor

A unique role in Town of Salem game which takes the side of the good guys, with a little twist. The goal if Jailor is to capture and lynch all of the criminals. He is able to incarcerate people during the day, strike at night, ignore the immunity and block the role.

if a jailor is killed and brought back by retrib, do they still have executions? or no?

depends if they've already used their executions when they were still alive

As someone who's favorite role is jailor, it would have completely not been your fault for executing him if you had asked something. Often, players need a prompt. I know that immediately claiming a role when jailed sounds like something that all players should just do instinctively, but in cases like that, before you executed him you should have asked him his role just in case. Then again, the mayor probably should have revealed or known better and told you his role without needing a prompt.

3

Veteran

One of the unique Town of Salem roles. As a Vet you can decide whether you should go on alert or not. If alert is used, you will attack anyone that visits you at night and gain Basic defence along with the ability to ignore role blocking. End goal is to kill all bad guys.

If Witch wants to controll Vet as first person, but Vet alerts, what will happen?

I actually made a clutch move so I made the evils think I ran out of alerts and there was a witch a bmer,GF,and the consort and my town friend was a vig that ran out of bullets he only shot a neutral, the Mafioso and the Basic defense of the witch so.That night I alerted and I killed all evil roles and town thanks to that alert

When you're vet and you're the last one standing - Basically what happened was, at the end there was me, a town, mafioso and jester. Before then I had attempted a vet bait(can't really remember what happened, but either way I was confirmed vet and mafia left me alone). So then we lynch jester, I abstain and the other two voted guilty(or was it just the mafioso? idr). Alerts - only used one alert until then since evil roles ran for the hills. Wasted it, but then this happened XD

4

Amnesiac

Amnesiac is one of those Town of Salem roles that belong to Neutral Benign, meaning you can win with anyone. He does not remember his role and you will never win unless you remember it. The strategy builds upon successful selection of the role and anonymity, for pure fun. Highly suitable for skilled trolling.

What if Amne remembers Jailor and later in game the Jailor gets revived while the other Jailor is alive?

It's a town Unique

yay somebody i can relate to except i was medium when this happened so night 1 i was jailed and i claimed medium night 2, apparently, there was a SECOND medium (du du duuu) who got jailed i suppose night 3, I get jailed and executed and im just like "bro what the *insert cuss word here* is wrong with you?" so i die, jailor finds out im actually medium, im raging in ded chat, and the second medium gets lynched this has NOTHING to do with anmesiacs but it's here anyway

5

Blackmailer

This one’s name speaks for itself. Blackmailer’s main duty in Town of Salem is to kill everyone who does not kneel to the Mafia. A supporting role, it is based on blackmailing people which can’t speak the next day and communicating with other Mafia members at night. Joins Mafia once other gang members are dead.

Dude spy and blackmailer were just equal now they call it balance shouldn't the spy keep his powers but cant talk to the medium when they are dead you can also remove the mafia hearing because its useless

I love Blackmailer(s), they help the Mafia"s team by shut down (the mouth) some of the Town Investigative roles trying to bust Mafia members. They can also hear whispers like Spy,too! (But Spy no longer hear whisper). Conclsion: Blackmailers should be Mafia Deception, Not Mafia Support.

This happened once: I was in a game as a exe turned jester and a blackmailer decided to play the "Why are you not talking" plot, fotunately people fell for it and I got hung. So as my roles night kill I chose the person who put me up sort as a jokes on you sort of thing. It is still funny when the person you kill to try to win comes back and kills you.

6

Consigliere

Another Mafia supporting character in Town of Salem. Game as a Consigliere circles around gathering the information for the Mafia and killing everybody who does not join the ranks. Consigliere always sees the exact target and what it is doing at the moment, whereas the Investigator is given 3 options to choose.

I really wouldn't recommend claiming invest as consig; a good spy will be able to see through the claim even if you change around the results or the people in the results (they'll be able to know from visit patterns that there's a consig and so invest claims will be suspicious). If you're going to claim invest as consig, I would recommend at least helping out evils (giving favorable results to neutrals/maf) and pushing mislynches when possible. Lookout is a better claim most times though, as it's far less predictable and, especially if you find something like escort/trans/TP, you can guess based on people's claims who they visited and "confirm" yourself (at the expense of confirming a town, but it's worth it sometimes).

I hope the Administrator could look into this for me. I just posted a photo in "Investigator" about the wrong investigate results. I also just experienced this when I was Consigliere

I think your target was just transported.

JESTER (Town of Salem Roles)

The weirdest guy in Town of Salem by a mile. Jester is full of pain and his mind is lost. The only goal is to let someone lynch the Jester and relieve him from pain. And then to get that idiot from the afterworld, like a true master of jokes and manipulations.

Ok, so I just read up a bit on Pestilence, Horseman of the Apocalypse, and I'm now officially confused. It doesn't make sense as to why a character with an unstoppable attack would be unable to attack a character with an invincible defense. However, it also doesn't make sense as to why an invincible character would be slain with someone with an unstoppable attack. Shouldn't a jester's attack NOT be unstoppable if it can't hurt Pestilence, Horseman of the Apocalypse? Is there any special text if a jester DOES try to haunt Pestilence?

Okay, here is a GREAT way to get lynched as Jester. Make sure not to claim Survivor at the beginning, nor any other immune role. If most suitable, claim a role with no defense. Then, be really dramatic on maybe day 5 or 6 (if you're still alive) and say you were attacked. People are going to probably say, "How are you still alive?" You can be like, "Oh, I'm survivor... yeah?" and this will most likely get you lynched. Remember, DO NOT claim survivor at the beginning. You can also claim multiple roles throughout the game, or say, "I'm (insert role) wait no, I keep misreading my role card." You're welcome.

Jesters are factionless, they don't have any team at all. They can team up with the other Jester if they want to, but they most likely wouldn't because Jesters are the type of role where you're on your own. As long as a Jester gets lynched and they win, they wouldn't care about the other Jesters.

WEREWOLF (Town of Salem Roles)

Werewolf is among those Town of Salem roles whose target is to kill everybody that opposes him. A normal guy from the outside can be transformed into a bloodthirsty monster during the full moon. When the Werewolf attacks, he Rampages at the target’s house. This role has night immunity and ignores it as well.

never mind xD

If you get jailed as a WW he will still be able to execute you...

I had a really randnight as ww, I visited a obvious exe and I attacked 6 people. It tuns out that a sk, a mafioso visited the target and that a transporter had swapped me and the exe and that a witch had controlled me (not realising I was transed) to visit the exe, it was a slaughter

19

SERIAL KILLER (Town of Salem Roles)

This guy has to outlive everyone in Town of Salem game to win. He does not side with the bad or good guys and only kills. Serial killer can murder anyone in the night and has the immunity for the same period of time, therefore he cannot die when the sun hides behind the horizon.

This was probably my best game as serial killer... (I was Pocket, named after the Jester in Shakespeares "King Lear" since I had a Jester skin.)

Honestly I like this role probably the best. I dunno, but it's been pretty easy for me (unlike something as the godfather, which in my book is the worst role because everything goes wrong when I get it).

Weird, but thanks for letting me know. Cause I did sacrifice my win for the sake of the Town. Now I know that I have to kill to avoid being called gamethrowing.......

WITCH (Town of Salem Roles)

One of the coolest Town of Salem roles, the Witch can control one target each night. Controlled people may perform only one action per night which includes murder and investigation. However, the target will know about the control. Witch is immune to Vampire bite and needs to kill all of the Town to win.

The new ranked list really screws over witches if an investigator investigates you early on when town has majority Surv (there is no "NB" anymore so no chance of being survivor) Witch (This is "NE" so it is possible) Vampire Hunter (No "Any" so no vampires means no chance of vampire hunter)

Witch is my favorite role to play, I constantly purchase Witch scrolls. My biggest pet peeve is when there's 3-4 plays left, and the Mafia decide to lynch the confirmed Witch for no reason at all. I have actually played countless games where the Mafia would've won if they would've left me alive. 1. There were 3 people left, me, a Mafioso, and an unknown Town. Mafia decides to lynch me instead of the Townie. I reported the Mafioso, but not the Townie, since it is in his allignments to kill Witches. Anyways, they lynch me, and the Mafia attacks the last Townie. Can you guess what that last Townie was? A Veteran on alert. Both me and the Mafia would've won if we would've lynched the Veteran instead. 2. There were 4 people left, me, a Vampire, a Mafia, and a Medium. Everyone knew eachother's roles, and I told the Mafia that I would win with them. I told them to lynch the Vampire, then he would kill the Medium during the night. You know what he did instead? He lynched me, along with the Medium and the Vampire. The Mafia, being stupid af, attacks the Medium instead of the Vampire, and the Vampire attackes the Mafia. The makes the Vampires win, and not the Mafia. I just had to rant, since it's such an annoying, useless problem. 6/10 times, the Mafia will turn against me, and lynch me. I was wondering if anyone else had these problems with playing Witch.

I just got Witch, and I'd say despite my loss I did pretty well. First few nights, I was just controlling people to themselves to learn their role. Then I got jailed, and talked my way out of execution by claiming Vampire Hunter. Then I controlled someone who was probably the Vigilante to target someone. At the last minute, I decided to instead make them target the probably-Veteran. I was correct on both. I caused the whole town to be confused about the Veteran's identity, since I didn't change my will when I changed my target.

Sometimes I wish there was something somehow implemented so that you'd have to be a certain level of intelligence/maturity to be a jailor. Let me explain. So, one time I was an investigator and my name just happened to be breast cancer (someone said to make a types of cancer theme for names and I didn't see any problems with it so I just went with it (furthermore, is that breaking the rules? I dunno.)) Sadly, someone did take offense to my name and they happened to me a jailor. I ended up being even MORE unlucky, as this jailor was immature to no end, because when I stated my role, they IGNORED what I said, pretending that I didn't say anything. They proceeded to count down and execute me regardless. NOT ONLY DID THAT HAPPEN, but the day after I died, this baboon also died. They had written in their will that I was a confirmed mafia member (again, I was already dead.) I was obviously very angry at the irationability of this jailor and asked them why I was executed even though I stated my role. This child had the nerve, THE NERVE, to say that I told them I was a godfather and threatened to kill them. Just a little reminder, I was an investigator. While I was arguing with this unfathomably stupid jailor, the living townies were rejoicing in my death, saying that they beat cancer (actually, this was really funny now that I think about it, but I was in a bad mood so this was just icing on the cake.) The jailor continued to insult me and lie about the events (furthermore, I had screenshots againt this kid, but I was too late and couldn't send a link to the photo in the chat to prove I'm not a totaly idiot.) TL;DR blah blah stupid jailor killed me because of my name I can't post the screenshot for whatever reason, so just take me word for what happened.

I just added the Suspicious Claims section to this page. Is there anything I've missed or any wrong information?

When you get that one Classic game where the Jailor manages to execute all three Mafia without fail. ...and the LO's nice enough to take the hit to let you, the Exe-turned-Jester, get lynched and win. Gotta love this game!

how do you open up the 'execute reason note'?

No idea. I'm not sure it has even actually been implemented yet, I think BMG might still be working on it.

Can someone explain to me why people claim Jester to Jailors? I don't get it.

Some Jesters believe that some Jailors will allow them to live because a) they don't want to waste an execution on a Neutral and b) the Jester being hung by Mafia/Coven might make one of the aforesaid scum get haunted. In my opinion though, it's not worth it because a) Jailor never gets to use all 3 executions usually anyway and b) the chances the Town will hang the Jester are much higher.

Its useless to execute a Jester better safe executions for the Survivor

well the jailor can be a good guy, letting the jester get hanged or try to get hanged i personally never execute jesters, exes, and survs because i know it hurts when it happens

Version 2.0 removed death notes for all town roles. The devs might re-add Jailor death notes after a swarm of comments displaying concern.

It would make sense if Jailor had a note imo. If they executed a townie then the chat would rage at them, if the townie didn't claim or something then it's not the Jailor's fault. They need a way to tell people that. And lorewise, a death note for the Jailor is kinda like "You have been found guilty of ______ and sentenced to death".

But let's be honest, when do townies actually read Jailor's note before calling him an idiot?

I remember in one of the games, i was jailor, and it so happened that for almost 3-5 nights straight, i kept jailing the mafia's targets, which messed them up. then i jailed wrongly, one person dien via mafia that night. continued jailing mafia's target's by accident. i also jailed the God Father and Consort but didn't excute them because consort claimed escort and God Father claimed Vig or Vet i think, and i got paranoid and didn't kill them, but i think town won due to the fact there was the mafia stuck not being able to kill anyone because i kept jailing them, until they killed me, don't rememeber what happened after that. It was a fun game, although i was a horrible jailor

I was the jailor in a ranked practice. N1: jailed A who claimed to be jester N2: jailed B who claimed to be survivor During the daytime, A accused B for being mafia in a very confident way. The town lyunched B and turned out B was GF. This was a good result but it made me wonder : How could A (jester) know that B was mafia. Only if A attacked B who was in my jail and found B being immune. There was no way that A was a jester. Therefore, I invited A into my jail again and had a talk. A confessed that he was a vampire. And he could find out mafia for me like what he did last time. I refused it and executed him. I always think that it is too hard to win with vampire. Note: The life of A: N1:jailed, N2:bit a GF, N3:got executed. ->he didn't bite anyone. Day4: We lyunched the SK. There were 2 transporters and were making a mess. So I was on my own. As I had no clue, I just invited a random quiet person into my cell. Night4: I pressed the execution button without saying a word. And the prisonor said: WOW nice, how do you know? ... Well actually I didn't, he just busted himself. If he claimed a role to me, I may spare him already. So never give up defending yourself so soon even you think you see a "confindent" jailor like me. I always think that townies will defend themselves if they are clean. Day5: The prisonor was GF. so only 1 mafioso left. I , again, jailed a random quiet person. Night5: He claimed to be escort. I doubted but I spared him, because he would be guilty if there was no death tmr. Day6: No death. It always feels good to be jailor--you will never get lyunched. Only me and the "escort" were suspicious to town for being too quiet. I confessed that I was jailor and the "escort" got immediately lyunched. The moment when you confessed to be a jailor always feels good because no one will doubt that. No one will dare to lie as a jailor. Town won.

I was a jailor in classic. Near the end of the game there was only me, the gf, and the sk. somehow they didnt lynch me. i decided to jail the gf. I executed him. The sk didn't kill me. I then jailed him and proceeded to execute him. The dead townies were screaming "epic win!!!!"

Is it just me or does the jailor have the most badass story out of all the roles? It's a really cool scenario if you imagine it in the head.

I once had a game where night 1 a doctor was jailed and claimed doctor in jail, jailor was stabbed by sk (I was sheriff this was ranked) Jailor put doc claim in will, and doctor was executioner target. Executioner got a real easy win didn't he?

I was jailed in a ranked game when I was a Doctor. I told the jailor that, he didn't exe me. Next morning, jailor is stabbed by the sk. The town reads the will that says I was Doc/Sk and they lynch me :| so unlucky....

Awesome Jailor game but I can't remember the whole thing And the claims are what the people I jailed claimed N1:didn't jail (I didn't know how before n3 N3:claimed mafioso, I executed, was mafioso N4:claimed doc, didn't execute N5:claimed exe, I executed, was framer N6:jail sharif to protect him N7im bitten by vamp, the sharif was a vamp D8:we linch someone D9:we linch someone else N9:we bite last person, vamp win (my first vamp win)

I was jailor in an All/Any game. I jailed someone named "Eminem" on N1, and said nothing. They said nothing in return. I jailed them again N2, to see if they would claim anything. Nothing. I clicked the execute button at around 20 seconds left. Yet again, nothing. I went through with the execution, and even put in the DN that they claimed nothing. "Eminem" was Mayor. The Town turned on the Jailor, but they had no idea who it was, since it was only D3. Was it right for me to of executed the Mayor? Note: They were not AFK. They were voting and speaking in chat during D2, so there is no reason why he shouldn't of claimed a role.

I remember someone named "Yolo" has instantly revealed himself as soon the game started LMAO-- He died on the next day though.

best strrat ever: revealmayo on 1st day and get lookout to watch u every nite then if mayo gets attacked linch em

what if more than 1 person visits or lookout dies

I was in an odd mood and I was playing Any All, so I named myself DumbRole and hoped for exactly that, a dumb role. I got Mayor. I got a laugh from that. I had asked for a dumb role and I couldn't think of a role more perfect than mayor in any all.. So I just sat and waited and listened to chat. On night 1, the jester died to maf and SK and the blackmailer suicided. The spy died as well but I don't remember why. By day 5, the janitor and the sk were dead along with the escort, invest, and someone who was cleaned. The amne had become the new blackmailer. There were seven people left. In chat, this guy starts saying things like, "mafia we got maj." I was so confused. Maj? Maj? Someone was voted up and I was still trying to sort out what "maj" was. The same guy as before said, "mafia, vote guilty" and it hit me: majority. The mafia is confident because they THINK they have majority. I type quickly in chat: "Town vote innocent." And then I revealed. The person is voted down by ME alone. With a little help we voted up the vocal one, who proceded to say, "mafia vote innocent" to which he got the reply, "But the mayor." He was hung and turned out to be forger. I was certain that I would die that night. Afterall, there had to be three more mafia alive for there to have been a majority pre-reveal. For some reason, I lived and was merely blackmailed. The amne turned blackmailer was dead by vampire, who I had completely forgot was in the game (they had killed the janitor). The GF also died for some reason... Unable to speak, I voted with the town and vampire to get the last mafia. That night, I was bitten and won with Vampire when we hung the doc. Mafia was so salty. They would have had it... If I wasn't the mayor. XD

I find it unfortunate that to most players, Mayors (as well as Jailors, Vigilantes and Veterans) are supposed to be the know-all of town and the lyncher of every single evil. Good luck being forced to reveal D2 and then having a boat load of TI and TP claims, and having people call you a dumbass left and right because you legitimately have no idea who to lynch since most claims seem to have no information whatsoever in their wills.
